Unexpected Peril is Now Ready for Pre-Orders!

Posted by on Apr 28, 2015 in Unexpected Peril | 0 comments

Are you ready for next month’s release of Unexpected Peril? Well, Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the Kindle version, and I’ll soon be taking pre-orders for the autographed books. Stayed tuned if you’re wanting to get one of those.

Right now I’m doing the final tweaking on it, and I’m writing the first chapter of book four. Commitment is a problem for me, so I’m waiting until the very last minute to go public with the name of that one. Stay tuned, as I’ll soon be sharing it, along with other exciting details and teasers.

U.S. residents can get your Kindle copy here, and other countries can go to their Amazon page as well. Don’t forget to leave a quick review on the others if you haven’t already.

As always, I’m eager to share my latest work with you. Get ready for a roller coaster ride on this one! It’s a bit darker, and I had so much fun creating these creatures 🙂

Cover Reveal for Unexpected Peril!

Peril_FrontCover72dpi

It’s finally here! Well, what do you think? A little creepy? Pretty? It still matches Unexpected Metamorphosis and Unexpected Entrapment, although this one takes on a different tone and setting than the first two. Notice the bog in the eye?

I won’t be posting the first two chapters this time, because the second chapter ends on a major cliffhanger. However, I may post a few teasers leading up to the release, which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26. Here’s the back cover synopsis:

Savage beasts kidnap Alissia Roswell as she is traveling to meet a separate group of Lamians than the ones that saved her life and physically changed her in the process—gifting her with many special abilities. Just when she was beginning to get accustomed to the bond she and Luke Harrison share, she awakes alone and trapped deep within an eerie bog to find she can no longer feel his presence or reach out to him with her mind.

Unexpected Peril, the third book in the Alissia Roswell Series, will take you to magical lands filled with strange and mysterious creatures. Will Alissia have a chance to adapt to her new life in this alternate reality, or will everything and everyone she has come to love be destroyed by an intense hatred for humanity?

Stay tuned for more details, and as a reminder, if you haven’t already left an honest review of the first two books in the series, please consider doing so. It doesn’t have to be long–only a few words will do, and it really does help. It’s really easy to do with Amazon.

Oh, and you can get a glimpse of some of the scenes in Unexpected Peril by checking out the book’s Pinterest board.

10 Secrets to Connect Moms & Daughters

“At a time when so many barriers are straining mother/daughter relationships, and our daughter’s esteem is being attacked from every side, “What Every 6th Grader Needs to Know” gives mothers the tools they need to communicate (even about the tough stuff). It gives daughters the confidence to know that they have what it takes to survive the unique transitional years. Whether your relationship with your daughter is strained, or you want to strengthen what is already strong, use this smart and savvy information. You and your girl(s) will learn how to thrive through the teen years.”
–Heather Ann Johnson M.S. Adjunct Faculty, BYU, Mother to 5 girls

“With conflicting messages today, it’s easy for moms and daughters to get confused and overwhelmed. This book bestows all the wisdom you want to pour into your daughter’s heart and mind in a fun, non-threatening way. Dread turns into confidence as you realize you have the tools to face those teenage years TOGETHER and have a ball doing it.”
–Rachel Skinner, Mother of nine, Social Worker

“This book provided a wonderful bonding experience for me and my daughter. As parents we always think we know how our child is doing. Then we get into a deep conversation and realize that compared to what we thought, they are doing either so much better or are suffering so much more. But they hold those feelings back to protect us. Sometimes they fear that talking about it means more pain, but this books shows that talking is healing, especially when we know how.”
—Karrie Glazner, Mother of Three Wonderful Kids

Cover Reveal for Unexpected Peril Coming April 20th!

Posted by on Apr 15, 2015 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Ready for the cover reveal of Unexpected Peril? The big reveal is scheduled for Monday, April 20th. Be sure to stop by and check it out. There will also be more details about the release, and you can read the back cover blurb. Unlike the first two books, I won’t be posting the first two chapters online. The second chapter ends in a major cliffhanger, and my readers would hate me if I left them hanging on those words.

I’m getting great feedback from my beta readers, as they are all telling me the series is getting better with each book. Unexpected Entrapment was a hard one to beat with the plot twists I threw at my readers, and I’m excited that my earliest readers are devouring this one with such great intensity–reading it through the night. I can’t wait to share it with you, and I hope you enjoy the new environs and creatures I created for this story.

Alissia’s adventure continues, and I have high expectations for the fourth book. Many of the subtle events in the first three books lead into an explosion of fireworks–in more ways than one. You can expect more creatures, sweet romance, beautiful environs, and unexpected battles.

My Night at FoxTale Book Shoppe

Posted by on Apr 13, 2015 in 2015 | 0 comments

I’d like to thank FoxTale Book Shoppe for including me in this month’s Emerging Author and Discussion event. It was a pleasure meeting a diverse group of authors, along with readers. As usual, when I get back from a group authors’ event, I add more books to my reading list. Ann Timken’s personal story sounds intriguing, and I’ve added her fictional book titled Sight in the Sandstorm to my reading pile (which I hope to get to this summer after my latest release).

I had the pleasure of having two of my nieces join me for the event, which made the night even better. The downtown area of Woodstock, Georgia, is a happening place on the first Fridays during the warm months, and we ended our evening walking and enjoying the live music, lights, and ambiance. I ate an amazing black bean burger while sitting outside under the lights, and it was the perfect night.

It was a pleasure to meet Ann Timken and then end the night with two of my nieces. New faces, crazy family, great ambiance, and delicious food. Life is good!
