Pre-Order a Paperback of Unexpected Beginning Today!

Posted by on Jun 20, 2018 in Unexpected Beginning | 0 comments

It’s almost here! Since the release of the Kindle version, many of you asked when the paperback would be ready. Well, you can now pre-order it at Amazon. I usually offer signed copies via mail, but since I’m living on a sailboat this summer, it’s going to be a while before I get settled back at my office.

We’re docked at Jekyll Island for the month of June, and if you recall, Alissia spent much of her childhood here. I’ve been visiting family in her hometown, which means I’ve been picking and shelling purple hull peas and eating lots of blueberry cobbler. Some of my family came to stay with me on the boat while my husband and son traveled to Atlanta for a business trip, and some friends from Florida visited the water park on the island for a day. Oh, and my two-year-old granddaughter is tagging along for a bit as well. Forget calm sunsets on the water–life has been crazy!

Next month looks promising, though. After a week with some friends, we plan to sail to Hilton Head for the month of July. We don’t know anyone in that area, so things should slow down.

I’ll do a post about Jekyll Island soon. I have many memories here, and so do my children. I’ll also do some posts about life on a boat. Last week I had three teenage girls aboard, and I quickly learned they shed worse than dogs. Hair was everywhere!

Be sure to get your copy of Unexpected Beginning, and please don’t forget to leave an honest review.

Update on Unexpected Beginning

Posted by on Apr 9, 2018 in Unexpected Beginning | 0 comments

I’m home again! After an unexpected, spring vacation in St. Augustine, Florida, I’m back at my desk. And, wow! I have to get used to waking up early again. The struggle is real!

Unexpected Beginning went out to the first round of beta readers before I left, and it’s about to go the second, and last, round of betas. I’m in the process of gathering their emails and will reach out to them later today. Once they get it, they’ll have two weeks to read it, before it goes to the formatter. I’ll set it up for preorder on Amazon once I get a finalization date from the formatter.

I also plan to start writing Unexpected Legends, the fifth and last book in the Alissia Roswell Series, this week and expect a timely, 2019 release.

Stay tuned for updates, as it’s getting close!

Another Unexpected Beginning Update

Posted by on Feb 15, 2017 in Unexpected Beginning | 0 comments

Unexpected Beginning is almost ready! It’s off for editing, and once I go through the revisions, I’ll send it to a few close friends. Then it will go to the beta readers, and I can finally start on Unexpected Legends, the fifth and final book in the Alissia Roswell Series. I’ll also be back on track after a chaotic year and plan to have that one out next year.

I’ve heard from many of my readers, and I know y’all are waiting to see what happens next. I promise some exciting things in this one–lots of surprises!

Until then, look at that amazing cover my designer put together. As always, there’s a lot of meaning in the cover, and I wonder if anyone can figure it out 🙂

There’s still time to sign up to be a beta reader. Just fill out the form. Also, if you haven’t already, please give honest reviews on Amazon and/or Goodreads of the first three books in the series. Not only do I love to hear from my readers (authors often doubt themselves and get discouraged), but the amount of reviews are very important these days. I try to leave reviews for most of my purchases, although I’m very behind at the moment. They don’t have to be long and tedious. Just let me know what you liked or didn’t like.

Thanks for the support.

“A twisted and complex plot, with spellbinding intrigue. The characters are deep and multi-dimensional, and the unpredictable, non-stop action builds to a crisis point at the end. Even the romantic aspect is non-linear and captivating.” – Tamie Dearen, author of the Alora Series

“Interesting, different & creative ideas filled this novel with a ton of imagery.” “Love! Love! Love! Can’t get enough of this novel!!!” “The twists and turns kept my attention at all times!” “Unexpected Metamorphosis has everything I love about modern fantasy. New worlds, strong female leads, gripping action sequences, and beautiful scenery that captivates the imagination.” – Reviewers on Amazon

Alissia Roswell is far, far from home, and she won’t be going back any time soon. After having been sucked through a wormhole, spat out half-dead in an alternate reality, and revived by Lamians—an ancient, magical people who trigger a profound metamorphosis in Alissia, giving her powers she never thought possible—Alissia becomes the subject of Alrik Durst’s manipulation. Alrik has already usurped power in the city of Pallen, and with Alissia’s arrival, he sees his opportunity to exploit the power of the Lamians to his bidding as well, driving the land ever closer to civil war. Held prisoner in the luxurious confines of the Eldership castle in Pallen, Alissia is forced to feign memory loss to protect herself and her friends while fending off the romantic overtures of Ian Durst—Alrik’s all-too-charming son.
Will the loves of her life, Grady Bolair and Luke Harrison, be able to help her escape? When she finally chooses between the two—Grady, the statesman, or Luke, the assassin—will it rip her alliances to shreds, casting uncertainty on her future?

Join Alissia as she learns to reign in her fiery personality, tries to accept her past, and struggles with the one thing that scares her most: vulnerability. Unexpected Entrapment: Alissia Roswell: Book Two will whisk you away to a world of mystical, menacing creatures and fantastic environs, where secrets abound and nothing is quite as it appears.
